Firefighters respond to car on fire on I-5 in Vancouver

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — The Vancouver Fire Department responded to a car on fire on the freeway Wednesday morning.

Officials say firefighters responded at 7:30 a.m. to reports of a car on fire on the 2700 block of I-5 Southbound. A sedan that was “fully engulfed in flames” was found on the scene, VFD said in a release.

However, the fire was extinguished “within 10 minutes” and there were no injuries.

“The occupant was able to safely get out of the vehicle prior to our arrival,” police said.

The incident caused three lanes of I-5 to be temporarily shut down.
