PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Oregon and Washington’s latest atmospheric river isn’t only bring the rain, but record warmth is expected this weekend.
Temperatures will rebound Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Highs in the upper 50s will put Portland nearly 30 degrees warmer than the freezing afternoon high of 21°F The Rose City saw during the thick of the winter blast on January 13.

Afternoon highs Sunday will go even warmer. That’s where records will fall for much of the Willamette Valley. Highs will likely climb into the low to mid 60s from Portland to Salem. The warmer weather comes as skies begin to dry. The southwesterly flow seen from this weekend’s atmospheric river is helping push tropical temperatures and moisture into the region through the weekend across the Pacific Northwest. The mild conditions remain for the start of next week.
