PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The woman who shoved a child into the MAX train tracks has been sentenced to 10 years in psychiatric review, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office.
After the incident, Brianna Lace Workman faced charges of first-degree attempted assault, third-degree attempted assault, interfering with public transportation, second-degree disorderly conduct and recklessly endangering another person. On Wednesday, she was found guilty except for insanity on all charges.
She will be transported to the custody of the Oregon State Hospital.

Workman, now 33, was near a mother and her child at the Gateway Transit Center MAX platform in December 2022 when she shoved the child off the platform.
TriMet surveillance footage showed Workman pushing the child in a pink coat onto the rails, causing the child to land face-first on the metal rail of the track and rocks before she was pulled back onto the platform by bystanders who rushed forward.
