PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Do you find yourself stuck in traffic often? You certainly aren’t alone. According to a recent report, Portland was found to have the 15th worst traffic in the country in 2023.
The report by TomTom looked at 387 cities around the world and compared their average travel time, fuel costs and CO2 emissions to find which cities were the worst.
Portland ranked 15th worst, with an average of 55 hours lost to rush hours each year and an average travel time of 14 minutes and 10 seconds per every 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), which is 30 seconds slower than in 2022.

Overall, Portland was ranked at having a 32% congestion level, which combined with all of the other statistics gave the city the 15th place ranking in the United States and the 265th spot in the entire world.
In the United States, no surprise, the bigger cities found themselves ranked worst in terms of traffic with New York City, Washington D.C. and San Fransisco taking the top three spots respectively.
