Authorities say Portland man was going 150mph before crashing car in Adams Co.

ADAMS CO., Wash. – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest of a Portland man who authorities said led law enforcement on a high speed chase Sunday afternoon.

The Adams County Sherrif’s Office said deputies received information from the Washington State Patrol that a black BMW with no license plates was going about 150 mph and was headed towards the Tri-Cities on I-90.

Deputies said it was just before 12:30 p.m. and WSP said there was enough evidence to arrest the driver for running from law enforcement.

Deputies then set up on South SR 395 and said they soon saw a vehicle matching the description troopers with WSP gave them. The vehicle was going at a high rate of speed and deputies said they tried to stop the BMW, but the driver refused to pull over. Deputies reported they had enough evidence that suggested the driver may be driving under the influence and began chasing the vehicle.

The driver of the BMW then crashed into two vehicles on South SR 395 and then hit the guardrail in the area of South SR 395 and South SR 26, according to information released by the ACSO. The driver then got out of the vehicle and deputies said he tried to run from the crash scene. Adams County Sheriff’s Office K9 Nado then got to the scene and helped arrest the man.
