Portland Police: Body found in car leads to arrest of missing woman’s fiance

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – A man has been arrested after his missing fiancée may have been found dead inside a car in Washington, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Officials say Jeannie Enyeart, 47, was last seen by her neighbors in the area of Northeast Holladay Street and Northeast 93rd Avenue on Jan. 27. Three days later, her car was found unoccupied in Skamania County.

Her family said the car was towed after it was found crashed in a ditch. They searched the area until they heard someone had searched the car and found a body. According to court documents, the body in the car was hidden by a blanket and French’s wallet and license were found on the driver’s side floorboard.

On Monday, a medical examiner determined the deceased woman in the car had died of homicidal violence. Although officials say the medical examiner “has yet to officially identify the woman,” detectives say they believe she is Enyeart.
