This story has been updated from its original version.

Chili the emu has been safely located after she went missing from the West Linn farm she calls home Thursday afternoon, Jan. 8.

Cherlyn Staten, Chili’s owner, said Friday morning that the bird was found in a neighbor’s yard a few houses down.

Chili, 3, went missing around 4:30 p.m Thursday. Staten, who helped hatch Chili during the 2021 ice storm and said she was very special to the family, noted the bird would be “in time out for eternity.”
