Winter not over: East winds return mid-week, snow and ice likely in Columbia River Gorge

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) – Cold air is forecast to move into the region mid-week and linger into the weekend forecasters say. “For the Portland area, the snow level should hover around 1,500 feet. In heavier precipitation, the snow level can be pulled lower,” KATU Meteorologist Rhonda Shelby said. “As of right now, models say there is not a threat of a snowstorm in the metro area.”
