Former MMA fighter charged with raping three homeless women

A former MMA fighter faces charges for raping three homeless women in Portland.

Portland Police believe Zachary Andrews, 32, may have raped other women living on Portland streets.

Andrews, who also goes by Cadillac, allegedly raped three women between October 2021 and October 2022.

Andrews “forcibly raped and strangled three houseless women in their tents,” a deputy district attorney wrote in a court filing.

Two of the women sought medical attention soon after they were assaulted. Rape kits were used to collect DNA, which matched Andrews, prosecutors alleged.

The third victim did not seek medical treatment until days later, when scratches from the attack became infected, prosecutors said.

Andrews was indicted by a grand jury on April 10 and arrested on April 24.

Homeless women experience sexual violence at much higher rates than housed women.

All three women reported their assaults within days, but charges weren’t filed against Andrews until this year.

Andrews faced charges in a separate assault last year, when a woman alleged he followed her into her apartment and attempted to rape her before a neighbor heard her calls for help and intervened. Those charges were dismissed just a few weeks after they were filed.
