Gresham teen faces 19 charges for Rockwood Village shooting

An 18-year-old teenager has been indicted for a shooting at the Rockwood Village Apartments this spring that had bullets pass through several units just feet above sleeping children.

Jeremy Skelley Jr. faces second-degree attempted murder, three counts of unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree assault with a firearm, 12 counts of recklessly endangering another person, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

He appeared in the Multnomah County Circuit Court Monday, June 24, and was indicted by a grand jury.

Nearly 40 shots were fired on April 28 at Rockwood Village, 783 S.E. 185th Ave., after a group of suspects, believed to include Skelley, targeted one of the units. There was multiple reports of property damage, as well as one victim who suffered minor injuries.

“This is an absolute disgusting display of gun violence in our city and will not be tolerated,” wrote the Gresham Police Union on social media following the shooting.
