Two teens arrested for armed robbery at Gresham Skate Park

Two teenagers were taken into custody Thursday evening, July 25, after an armed robbery at the Gresham Skate Park.

Just before 9:30 p.m., Gresham officers responded to 911 calls reporting a robbery at gunpoint at the skate park, 49 S.E. Roberts Ave., adjacent to the Gresham Heroes Memorial and Main City Park. During the attempted robbery, which allegedly involved three suspects, the victims fled, including some running into Johnson Creek to escape danger.

Officers used drones and police dogs, along with aid from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Portland Police airplane, to search for the suspects. A resident reported a trio of suspects matching the description running through their property. One of the trio was taken into custody, with a discarded firearm found nearby.

A second person was spotted hiding in the backyard of a nearby home. When officers attempted to make an arrest, he ran and hid in the backyard of another home, before eventually being taken into custody. A second firearm was recovered near his first hiding spot.
