The weekend got off to a rather odd start when an announcement was made that Portland State’s team suffered an outbreak of whooping cough and would be unable to play their scheduled game against South Dakota. The Vikings (0-2) were supposed to host the Coyotes (1-1) in Portland but the game was ruled a no-contest.
