Man killed in Southeast Portland apartment shooting identified

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The man shot and killed in Southeast Portland early Saturday morning has been identified, authorities said.

Just before 1 a.m., officers responded to the 7800 block of Southeast Aspen Summit Drive on a report that someone had been shot.

Acura boxed in on Burnside Bridge, 2 arrested

On arrival, they found the man, identified as 19-year-old Niyjiel Brown of Texas, dead in a common area outside of an apartment complex.

The medical examiner determined that Brown died of homicide by gunshot wound.

No further information has been released at this time.
