PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Mostly cloudy skies will keep the fall-like feeling around Portland Wednesday as the lack of rainfall takes its toll on the monthly average.
Wednesday’s temperatures will remain in the upper-60s along the Willamette Valley. Monday’s high of 82 degrees put Portland nearly 20 degrees warmer than the second week of October should get. The cooler conditions are a welcome sight, but the lack of rainfall is starting to add up.

Rain accumulation will range from a few drops to a few hundredths of an inch on Wednesday. Typically, October sees an increase in the rainfall across the Pacific Northwest. Portland’s average rainfall for the month should sit close to 3.42 inches. So far, the Bridge City has only seen 0.31 inches. As the number of rain-free days continues to add up, so, too, does the rain deficit. Right now, Portland is falling behind by more than a quarter-inch of rain. This also comes with a lack of snowfall over the Cascades.
