West Linn and Tualatin face off in clash of state powers

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The West Linn Lions (6-1, 2-1) travel to play the Tualatin Timberwolves (5-3, 1-2) in a much-anticipated Three Rivers League contest, pitting two historically strong programs against one another.

After barely losing last Friday to top-ranked Lake Oswego 21–17, ending their six-game winning streak, West Linn is looking for redemption. The Lions are keen to get back on track and add another road victory to their record, since they are ranked close to the top of Oregon’s 6A class.

Even though Tualatin had a great start in the first quarter, they are now coming off a difficult 33–22 loss against Lakeridge. Given that Tualatin lost to West Linn 37-0 last season, this game is especially important to them. Now that they are playing at home, the Timberwolves will try to defeat their league opponent and undo the result from the previous year.

The game looks to be a competitive contest since both teams are eager to get back on track and make a major play for the state title. Tualatin wants to reestablish itself in the league, and West Linn wants to maintain its position among the state’s finest.
