PHOTOS: Large-scale climate ‘protest puppets’ put together in North Portland workshop

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — In a North Portland workshop Saturday afternoon, finishing touches were placed on large-scale puppets designed to help fight climate change.

Artists gathered for the event, hosted by 350-PDX , to create “protest puppets” meant to be displayed during climate change demonstrations.

According to 350-PDX, the puppets are inspired by local native plants and animals like firs, salmon, beavers and herons. They are also built with simple materials like cardboard, papier-mâché and clay.
