Clackamas Fire to parade with Santa through Sandy

For 50 years, Clackamas Fire, which now operates the Sandy fire station, has served its communities with Operation Santa.

The goal has been and remains: to collect donations for local causes during the holiday season. In Sandy, these donations will go to the Sandy Kiwanis Club’s Christmas Basket Program.

Donations for the Sandy effort will be collected during a donation drop-off event from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Sandy main station, 17460 Bruns Ave. Donations will also be accepted at the Boring Fire Station, 28655 S.E. Hwy 212, at the same time.

Two years ago, Clackamas Fire started hosting community parades to not only promote Operation Santa, but bring the jolly old elf himself into local neighborhoods.

Donations aren’t collected during the parades, but Clackamas Fire is facilitating a Santa Tracker online for folks to look up when Santa is close to their neighborhood during the parade. More information on the parade and its route can be found online at clackamasfire.com/2024-operation-santa/.
