2 people accused of robbing 11 locations in 18 days arrested after police chase, car crash

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Two people were arrested and accused of committing a spree of robberies around the Portland and Gresham areas back in October, authorities said.

Carlos Martin and Jessica Martin — who are not related to each other — were both arrested last month. They’re now facing dozens of charges, including multiple robberies.

Carlos and Jessica allegedly targeted bars, restaurants and lottery delis, robbing 11 locations in just 18 days, the Gresham Police Department said.

Initially, a joint investigation began between the Gresham Police Department and the Portland Police Bureau after it was determined the crimes spanning the two cities were connected. The events leading up to the pair’s arrest involved a police chase, car crash and SWAT search involving multiple law enforcement agencies, officials said.

On November 1, Gresham police tried to pull over the car occupied by Carlos and Jessica. Investigators said the suspects led officers on a chase into Clackamas County. They crashed near the intersection of Southeast 22nd Drive and Bohna Park.
