PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Starting December 19, 2024, some Reed College students will be able to attend the Southeast Portland school tuition-free.
On Thursday, Reed College announced the launch of the Reed Promise program, offering tuition-free education for newly admitted students from Oregon and Washington from families who earn under $100,000 per year. Transfer students from the United States are also eligible for the program.
According to the school, the program aims to increase access to higher education in the Pacific Northwest.

“Our graduates leave Reed College ready to make significant contributions to society by tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our world,” said Reed College President Audrey Bilger. “I am excited to implement this initiative that will allow even more students to access Reed’s multidisciplinary academic program and join our vibrant community.”
In addition to the Reed Promise, the school noted it will also continue other aid programs to meet “100% of demonstrated financial need for all students for all four years.”
