PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Law enforcement now has a new way of stopping speeding cars in their tracks.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office shared their secret weapon: the “grappler bumper.” A new video shows the device in action.

Alleged serial burglar of Tigard school arrested

The grappler bumper is affixed to the front of a deputy patrol car. When it’s deployed, it latches onto a suspect’s wheel, bringing the chase to a streeching halt .
