PORTLAND, Ore. — People in need of affordable housing in Multnomah County can now apply to two federally funded rent assistance programs.
The wait list opened Tuesday morning for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program and 13 Home Forward apartment communities. Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on April 21.
The HCV program provides rent assistance through a voucher to households on the wait list. Up to 3,000 new applicants are picked through a lottery and the vouchers are given out over time in the order people joined the wait list. Selected applicants can use the voucher anywhere they want to live in Multnomah County. The last time the HCV program’s wait list opened was in June 2023…
