Driver in deadly street takeover pleads guilty, will serve more than 3 years in prison

MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — After spending five months behind bars, a 19-year-old went before a Multnomah County judge on Thursday to plead guilty for his involvement in a street takeover that claimed the life of his best friend.

Juan Medina Dominguez pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide, reckless driving and unlawful street takeover following the Nov. 30 death of 17-year-old Cameron Lively, who was a passenger in his car.

“Although Cameron chose to accept the invitation to attend said event, he did not choose to die on this day,” said the prosecutor in court…
