Troutdale’s peaceful suburbia got a wake-up call when the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) executed a search warrant that unearthed a nest of illicit activity. On April 17, sheriff deputies swooped in on a residence known for its suspicious motorbike congregation, discovering stolen property and arresting 42-year-old Michael G. Falk on multiple charges. According to MCSO’s press release, officers recovered numerous motorcycles and parts, two of which were confirmed stolen, alongside a firearm and other illegal weapons.
The initial lead in the investigation came to light after an MCSO deputy, currently assigned to the City of Troutdale as a Resource Deputy, made a traffic stop involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle without plates. This encounter set off a sequence of events that were to eventually expose an operation dealing in stolen vehicles. MCSO collaborated closely with the Portland Police Bureau Auto Theft Task Force to quickly ascertain the extent of Falk’s alleged criminal enterprise. The deputy managed to successfully link the motorcycle rider to the home on SE 18th St., putting into motion the investigation leading to the search warrant.
Falk, who shared the residence with his elderly father, has been indicted on numerous charges according to the MCSO press statement, including possession of stolen vehicles and illegal weapons possession.
