Driver involved in 2024 fatal motorcycle crash arrested, accused of manslaughter

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A driver who was involved in a fatal motorcycle crash in Portland last year was arrested and accused of manslaughter and other charges, authorities said.

Stephen Pettefer, 41, was indicted by a grand jury in March on charges related to the crash that originally occurred on the afternoon of August 4, 2024.

The crash involved an SUV that crashed into a motorcyclist and then collided with another SUV in the Lloyd District, Portland police said. At the time, authorities said both of the drivers of the SUVs “remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.”
