TROUTDALE, Oregon — The Reynolds School District is facing major cuts that could mean a shortened school year for students and more than a hundred teacher layoffs. It’s all part of a $25 million, 20% budget cut that teachers spoke out against Thursday.
“Full funding public education! Now is the time!” shouted members of the Reynolds Education Association during several after-school demonstrations Thursday afternoon, ahead of a district budget meeting.
