PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – While the Portland Thorns and Orlando Pride went head-to-head on the pitch Saturday in Portland, the whole community pitched in to support and honor mothers, moms-to-be and children.
Billed as “the world’s largest baby shower,” fans got the opportunity to be part of a diaper drive. People were asked to bring disposable diapers – sizes 4-7, new cloth diapers or pull-ups to give to PDX Diaper Bank, which helps moms in need across the Rose City.
Fans also got the chance to sign a card for expecting mother and Thorns player Sophia Wilson, wishing her and her baby well…
