Vancouver robbery at a Safeway leads to pursuit ending in crash in Portland home

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Two suspects are in custody following an alleged armed robbery and coercion incident that started in Vancouver and ended with a car crash in North Portland on Sunday morning.

Portland Police Bureau (PPB) identified the suspects as 22-year-old Elcio Antonio Depadua and 29-year-old Jomar Allen Edington, both booked on May 4. According to Portland Police, Depadua currently faces charges of reckless driving, an A misdemeanor; failure to perform duties of a driver — property damage, an A misdemeanor; and fugitive, a U felony. Edington faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, a C felony; and fugitive, a U felony.

Around 6:55 a.m. on May 4, a male victim entered a Safeway store in Vancouver and reported to an employee that he had been coerced into stealing merchandise, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office…
