‘Intentionally cut’ utility poles lead to crash in NE Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A driver crashed into a downed utility pole on Northeast Sandy Boulevard, and police say the pole seems to have been “intentionally cut.”

According to Portland police, officers responded to the crash early Monday morning, where the driver — who was uninjured — reported hitting the downed utility pole.

When officers investigated, they said it appeared the pole had been “intentionally cut,” and upon further inspection, officers said they found three other utility poles that also appeared to have been cut along Sandy.
