Portland’s oldest home, on land ripe for development, has a new owner. Here’s his plan so far

Portland’s oldest surviving residence, the 1855 Tigard-Rogers House in Southwest Portland’s Bridlemile neighborhood, has a new owner: Joe Grinberg, who has roots in the area and construction experience from working for his family’s Lindquist Development.

Grinberg, 24, has been onsite most days since purchasing the 2.86-acre property April 24 for $750,000.

His plan so far: To preserve key parts of the property, including the 1855 red farmhouse, a 1950s-era dwelling and a 150-year-old Ponderosa pine…
