MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Just in time for the long weekend, sunshine and above-normal temperatures have returned. No need to worry about any weather delays if you’re traveling this weekend. A few showers are possible Monday morning, but we’re not expecting any downpours or thunderstorms. Beyond the weekend, highs stay at or above 80 degrees, and lows remain in the 50s.
SATURDAY: Today is the warmest of the weekend with highs approaching 80° in the metro. With hardly any clouds in the sky, it’s VERY important to apply sunscreen if you spend any amount of time outdoors. With the UV Index peaking at 7 around Noon, you can sunburn in 15-25 minutes without protection.
SUNDAY: Tomorrow will be slightly cooler with increasing clouds as the day progresses. Highs will top out in the mid 70s. A weak front is arriving overnight into Monday, but the showers shouldn’t arrive until midnight or later.
MONDAY: Memorial Day itself is actually our coolest day this week, with highs forecast to be in the upper 60s and low 70s. Ironically, that is supposed to be our “normal” for late May. The morning will be mostly cloudy with a few passing showers. Expect more sunshine by the afternoon with only a stray shower chance.
WARMEST STRETCH SO FAR THIS YEAR…
TUESDAY: Things heat up again Tuesday when high temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s and low 80s. A few upper-level clouds will float by throughout the day…
