Rams Head, one of Portland’s oldest McMenamins pubs, will close next month

One of Portland’s oldest McMenamins will serves its last basket of tater tots and pint of Hammerhead ale at the end of June, the Oregon chain of brewpubs, movie theaters and hotels announced this week.

Found in the historic Campbell building, the Rams Head pub has entertained revelers at the corner of Northwest 23rd Avenue and Hoyt Street since 1990. In February, McMenamins announced that it had “decided not to renew the lease” at the location, 2282 N.W. Hoyt St. At the time, a spokesperson said it was only the third location the company had closed since opening its first pub in 1983.

This week, McMenamins announced it would celebrate the pub’s closure with a sparkling wine toast at 11:59 p.m. on June 30 — its final day — and several specials throughout the preceding month. Those include:…
