Oregon surrogacy consultant sentenced to federal prison after defrauding her hopeful parent clients

SAN DIEGO – A woman who once ran three surrogacy consulting companies in San Diego is heading to prison after being sentenced for stealing nearly $400,000 from hopeful parents.

Lillian Arielle Markowitz, 40, of Portland, Oregon, was sentenced in federal court in San Diego to 24 months behind bars, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California.
