PORTLAND, Ore. — A man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly attacking a woman with a hatchet near Portland State University, according to police and university officials.
The suspect, Daniel Dickens, 42, was detained by TriMet security and arrested by officers from the Portland Police Bureau following the 11:11 a.m. incident at Southwest Fifth Avenue and Southwest Jackson Street, on the southeast side of University Pointe.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman, sustained a wound to her back from the hatchet attack but was in stable condition, according to PSU’s Campus Public Safety Office. She was transported by a friend to Oregon Health & Science University for medical evaluation…
