Man who shot teen in Clackamas Town Center parking lot gets 7+ years in prison

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 19-year-old man who shot a teenager in the parking lot of Clackamas Town Center in Dec. 2024 pleaded guilty to attempted murder on Wednesday, the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Pedro Anthony Cornejo-Morales also pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon charges as part of a plea agreement. He was sentenced to 90 months in prison.

Officials say that on Dec. 20, 2024, “Cornejo-Morales walked up to a car in the mall parking lot and fired five shots at a passenger, 15-year-old Zenon Elias Mendez. Mendez suffered a gunshot wound to his left hand and was treated at a nearby hospital.”…
