PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — About 60-70 protesters were seen outside the Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility late Wednesday night. The gathering, which once again appeared to be setting up a barricade in front of the building, had grown in the past few hours.
Around 10:45 p.m., the Portland Police Bureau said, via their PPB Event Messages X account, that they were about to make a “targeted arrest for a crime” amid the demonstrations. They announced on a sound truck a warning to other protesters not to interfere, on threat of being arrested.
Earlier in the evening, PPB said they had been present during the demonstration but were not involved in any immigration enforcement. Around 7:20 p.m., Portland police said that officers observed federal law enforcement “deploy munitions as vehicles were exiting the ICE facility,” but PPB did not get involved at that point…
