OPINION: Portland’s historic Albina settlement should be just the start to ‘restore dignity’

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland City Council recently approved an $8.5 million settlement for Black families and descendants displaced by urban renewal in the Albina neighborhood in the 1960s.

That’s $6.5 million more than initially proposed for 26 individuals.
