The Portland Tribune’s parent company laid off several of the paper’s veteran journalists Friday afternoon, along with staffers at some of the Tribune’s sister papers around the state. The job cuts left the Tribune’s newsroom with just a couple journalists and no editor.
Friday’s layoffs at the Tribune included Managing Editor Dana Haynes, veteran reporter Jim Redden, Life section editor Jason Vondersmith, sportswriter Austin White and at least two other journalists, according to people familiar with the situation. These cuts are the latest in a long string of layoffs at papers across Oregon.
