Downsizing of anchor tenant tips major downtown Portland building into loan default

U.S. Bancorp Tower is “Big Pink” for its hue. 1000 Broadway is the “Ban Roll-On Building” because it’s an architectural deodorant stick.

Now another of Portland’s whimsically nicknamed office towers, the staid and mysterious “Black Box,” is in default on a $63 million loan, its lender says in new court records.
