Officers find 10 dead cats, rescue several more during arrest of accused child predator

VANCOUVER, Wash. — The arrest of a suspected child predator in Vancouver turned into an animal rescue mission Wednesday after officers found several cats living in hazardous conditions inside the suspect’s home.

Maurice Holmes was booked into the Clark County Jail on three counts of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Vancouver Police is referring Holmes also be charged with more than ten counts of first-degree animal cruelty…
