Oregon minimum wage 35-cent hike ‘not anything’

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — On Tuesday, the minimum wage in Oregon will get a raise, with those in the Portland area getting an extra 35-cents an hour from $15.95 to $16.30.

The wage hike varies by county around the state. But restaurant workers in Portland who spoke with KOIN 6 News have mixed feelings about the pay bump.

Jordan Nesheim, who’s a bartender and cook, said “any little bit helps. Absolutely.”

But Jaclene Guirma, who works at Denny’s, said the increase definitely does not match the cost of living in the city…
