Shooting suspects ditch car in NW Portland neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A heavy police presence swarmed the area near Chapman Elementary School in Northwest Portland Sunday night after shooting suspects ditched a car and ran off into the neighborhood.

The incident began around 9 p.m. when shots were fired, police told KOIN 6 News. The suspects drove off and “bailed near NW Pettygrove and NW 26th,” authorities said.

Two people were quickly taken into custody, along with one gun. Two other suspects remain at large as of 11:10 p.m.
