PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The last call for two Central Eastside watering holes is fast approaching.
In an Instagram story on Thursday, Slow Bar announced it is slated to close on Aug. 9. The business, located on 533 SE Grand Ave., just marked its 21st anniversary on the Fourth of July. Also in the Buckman neighborhood, HOME, A Bar revealed earlier this week that it will permanently shutter at the end of July.

Slow Bar’s closure comes as Owner Rob Hemmerling and General Manager Steve Carder move on to other endeavors, according to the announcement.
“This wasn’t an easy decision,” Slow Bar wrote. “COVID damn near killed us, but we clawed our way back. Since then, we’ve battled a declining neighborhood, inflation, and the relentless rise of costs from ingredients to labor. The hits just kept coming. To say we’re heartbroken doesn’t even scratch the surface.”…
