Suspect caught in stabbing death of Portland ‘neighborhood sheriff,’ to appear in court

PORTLAND, Ore. — The suspect accused of stabbing and killing a Portland man dubbed the “Sheriff of Clinton Street” nearly a year ago is set to appear in court on Thursday.

The victim, Kenny Housman, got his nickname as the “Mayor” or “Sheriff” of Clinton Street from how he handled homeless campers in his Southeast Portland neighborhood.
