PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Body-worn camera footage released by Portland police is shedding light on when police welfare check resulted in the death of a man in custody in the Kenton neighborhood last month.

On the night of June 27 at around 10 p.m., Officers J.P. Duque Valencia, Travis Wortman and Jason Epton originally responded to a request for a welfare check on a man at an apartment complex in the 8500 block of North Argyle Way, authorities said.
