PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Fire crews are now putting out hot spots after getting a second-alarm fire under control that happened in the Northwest Industrial Area of Portland on Friday evening.
High winds added to the danger of the fire spreading as Portland Fire and Rescue responded to the scene just before 7 p.m. on reports of a commercial building on fire.
It turned out that local vegetation and blackberry bushes had ignited from a blaze that engulfed a pile of trash, possibly tires, in what was becoming an even larger fire and resulted in a column of smoke, as reported by firefighters…
