PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — An elderly woman survived a courageous escape from a massive apartment fire in East Portland by jumping from a balcony, according to a neighbor.
The fire, which broke out in the Hazelwood neighborhood on Friday, prompted a four-alarm response from Portland Fire & Rescue.
Michael Jones, a neighbor, said, “An 82-year-old lady who jumped off that balcony over there to try to make it out and these are her prints where she stumbled out to the curb. It’s an insane story.”…
