Police Focus On Illegal Drug Activity in North Portland

PORTLAND, OR – The Portland Police Bureau reports that on Saturday, July 12, the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit targeted illegal drug operations on the north side of the city. They say the operation included officers and investigators with NOC, the Enhanced Community Safety Team, Human Trafficking Unit, North Neighborhood Response Team, Air Support Unit, and patrol officers from both the East and North Precincts.

PPB says they were acting on reports from community members, business owners and neighborhood associations, as well as police investigations, that led them to believe there was a “high-level of drug-related activity and associated criminal behavior” in that area. That included parts of the Eliot Neighborhood, Lloyd Neighborhood, Overlook Neighborhood, and East Columbia Neighborhood.
