85-year-old bicyclist hit and killed by suspected drunk driver in SE Portland

A driver suspected of being intoxicated hit and killed an 85-year-old bicyclist in Southeast Portland on Sunday, a day after another cyclist was injured in a hit-and-run in Washington County.

Hiep P. Tran, 54, of Portland, faces likely charges of criminally negligent homicide and DUII after 85-year-old Raymond L. Myers was allegedly hit near Southeast 145th Avenue and Powell Boulevard around 7 p.m., court records state.

Emergency responders found Myers with a large injury to the back of his head, and officers noted that he “appeared to be deaf or hard of hearing,” according to a probable cause affidavit…
