PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — The co-owners of Higgins, a renowned downtown Portland restaurant, have issued a stark warning about the establishment’s future. In a recent social media post, they wrote, “Unless things change, we may have to say good-bye.”
The message highlights the challenges facing the restaurant industry in Portland, where at least two dozen eateries have closed or are set to close by the end of August. The owners of Higgins noted that while their menu maintains its James Beard quality, the surrounding environment has shifted dramatically.
