PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Authorities have identified the man who died from the injuries he received during an assault at a TriMet MAX station near the Oregon Convention Center on July 17.
James Elliott, 66, was found with life-threatening injuries when officers reported to the scene at the station that morning. He was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and eventually declared dead.

According to a court affidavit obtained by KOIN 6 News, surveillance video of the incident shows the suspect — 30-year-old Jordan T. Christ — striking Elliott once on the head and causing the man to fall backward on the ground “where he laid still.”
Paramedics who treated Elliott at the scene said he was found unconscious but breathing while bleeding from the head area…
